Brewtopia

There aren't very many things that get me as excited as the words Beer Festival. Especially when said fest it's right in my own backyard (ok crosstown, but close enough), as is the case with Brewtopia. So if you're in the New York City area and have nothing to do on the October 26th or 27th you might want to consider heading there. Here's some info....

For an unprecedented 5th time NYC hosts the Brewtopia Great World
Beer Festival. New York's longest running and most successful beer
tasting festival features the world's best beers, hand crafted both
here in the United States and across the pond in England, Belgium and
Germany as well as far-flung countries not often associated with beer
production like Japan and Thailand.

Where: This year's Brewtopia will be held in the Show Piers at Pier 92.
Rain or shine, brewery representatives and festival attendees will be
comfortable in our beautiful New York City location. Three sessions
ensure an uncrowded, easy to manage atmosphere for both guests and
brewers. For once, there is a festival where tasting the beer is the
primary focus of the event.

When: Session I will be on Friday, October 26th, 2006 from 7 PM until
11 PM. On Saturday, October 27th there will be two four hour
sessions, the first from 12:00 PM till 4:00 PM. The evening session
begins at 5:00 PM and ends at 9:00 PM. The tickets can be purchased in advance HERE or by calling 800-935-8537.

Check out the list of the breweries here - which includes lots of great small and larger hand crafted breweries.

Also be their friend on MySpace here.
