Well as it stands the Yanks are a 1/2 game up on the Sox with a little over a week to go in the regular season. It's the first time we've been in first since July 18th and I have to say it feels really good. I don't want to get overconfident yet there is still a lot of baseball to play and the Indians are still on fire.
Randy Johnson deliver another vintage start. His last two starts at home he's given up a total of 4 hits and 1 run - not too shabby. Hopefully Moose can keep the line moving tonight and give us a solid performance. He's on an 80 pitch limit, but if he's got his control working he might be able to get us to the 6th 0r 7th.
It's finally nice to see that we almost have too many starters now, when at a point in the season they were making moves just to find starters. Looks like Aaron Small may be the odd man out at this point and headed to the bullpen with a 9-0 record, but that's certainly not a bad thing. Yanks pen has looked shaky of late and if Small and Leiter (who has pitched great out of the pen recently) can be their middle inning guys I like our chances down the stretch.
Let's go Yanks!!!!!
